I used to plug my phone into my estimator and transfer my mp3 to the ringtone folder for cool music when the phone rings. How do I exercise that with the pixel three xl? I was non sure what to do with the C port. Thanks in advance!

Exactly the same thing. Plug 1 end of a USB-A to USB-C cable into your PC, the C end into the 3XL and transfer the files. If all you take is the charging cable that came with the phone, either fine a USC-C to USB-A adapter or, better, buy a USB-A to USB-C cable. They're all over Amazon and eBay (and local stores, similar Best Purchase and K-Mart [and maybe Walmart] may be carrying them besides by now).

Also consider using the Google Play Music app. You can upload your own music into the library, then in the app you tin tell it which music you lot want downloaded for offline listening. I go information technology if you prefer not to, merely if you lot haven't tried it, it'due south worth considering. Works peachy.

When you first plug the USB cablevision in to the calculator and and so to the phone...
    1. Pull down the shade and see "Android Organisation - Charging this device via USB".
ii. Tap on this message for more options.
iii. You will and then see a full screen dialog to choose how to use this USB.
    4. Choose "File Transfer"
You can now come across the total file structure of your Pixel on your PC.
Using your PC, copy files from your PC to the appropriate Pixel folders.

I was trying to to information technology by transferring the songs to Google Bulldoze, and put them in the correct folder on my telephone, not using a cablevision. I thought the suggestion in a higher place indicated I could practise that?

I was showing an alternate method that I find easier to use.

Downloading from Google Bulldoze will put the files in your download binder on your Pixel.

Using the USB cable you tin can easily meet the full file construction of your Pixel and put the files in the directory you desire.

Use the "Files" app to move files from Google Drive to your phone.

You could also utilise a file manager to move files on your Pixel to the folder you desire. I employ an app called "File Managing director" downloaded from the Android Play Store.

Aye, to add together to my post above, there are a number of good, free file managing director programs on the Play Store. I utilize Astro. A skillful, user friendly file manager is a useful utility to have.

If y'all select "Share" there'due south an option to 'Salvage to Drive.' From Drive you tin can download to your phone. Odd that there isn't an option to download straight to the device you lot're using. There is an option to 'Copy to clipboard' but it'due south unclear whether it just copies a sharable link to the file or the file itself - I think probable the old, but I didn't attempt it myself.

How do you lot download, I don't have a download selection in google play music?

In the Play Music app, open up the album, and beneath the album name, toward the correct side, higher up the list of songs, there is a circle with a down arrow in information technology. Tap that to make the anthology available offline. Information technology will be downloaded into the app'due south storage, so you won't see the song files on the phone, but it'll exist available offline.

I'chiliad not currently seeing a fashion to do it for individual songs, only I do know that if you set the setting for the app to cache music, even if you lot don't tell information technology to make certain songs available offline, if you've listened to them lately they'll likely be cached and available offline.

If you download a song using the Play Music app, information technology's just for offline apply by the Play Music app, and can't be manipulated by the user. You need to download the song from your Play Music library site on your computer browser, then transfer that mp3 file to the phone's /Ringtones directory (either via USB, or by uploading the file to Google Drive on your computer, so downloading it to your phone from the Drive app). The song will then be available as a ringtone.
